Not known Factual Statements About Brooklyn Artist Photography

When you decide to choose your wedding photographer you may wonder how you ought to determine who should be hired. You have to consider the cost of the photographer, the experience they do (or do not) have, and most important is their choice of style in how they capture the moments. You may go in with a pre-determined style you're seeking for your photographs but an artistic style may be more suitable and work out better for you overall.

Artistic wedding photographers will focus on photojournalism instead of the more traditional wedding photography style. A photo-journalistic approach to a wedding is one which showcases the wedding in a more natural way. They will allow the wedding to happen like they are not even there or as a traditional guest. Each and every moment is a photographic possibility and it will be treated. Because they can do this during the event, they typically will not have to set aside a time to take pictures of everyone. Because everything is done in a more natural way and the images will reflect this, you get the benefits here. Traditional styles are more scripted and as a result they may seem too much and fake focus is put on getting the perfect shot instead of letting events flow naturally. It doesn't work out for everyone but many people want a natural feeling instead of a staged one and an artistic photographer can work with this for you.

Artistic photographers also will make their pictures seem more artistic and not focus on being just a picture. This may be accomplished through using different angles or even using different color settings such as traditional color, sepia, or black and white. When you look at these pictures you think that you're looking at a true work of art that may be displayed on a wall instead of just in a wedding album that someone has lying around.

A photographer who focuses on being artistic also has the benefit of being more aware of the surroundings. They know that the setting definitely sets the tone and mood of the picture and use it to their advantage to make sure that the pictures turn out as best as they possibly can in the current settings and situation. You don't have to constantly worry about whether or not that moment which can not be repeated will be lost in history forever because your photographer didn't catch the best shot possible.

Artistic photography is something that not everyone who picks up a camera can accomplish. It takes a true artist to know the difference and to be able to use these facts in their daily photographs to make them be truly artistic in both name and quality. If you're focusing on a photographer, be sure to look at their portfolios to grasp a feel for the emotions that are displayed through their photographs and choose them only if they give you the feeling that you want to feel after having your wedding photographs printed and delivered.

When looking to hire a Wedding Photographer ... you can choose a Photographer or an Artist. How do you know the difference? How do you know if you even want an Artist or a Photographer?

Art has many different definitions, but the one I really subscribe to is "Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the emotions or senses". "An artist also may be defined unofficially, as, "a person who expresses themselves through a medium. This definition of an artist successfully highlights what happens when someone takes a camera in hand and pushes a button. It really doesn't matter if it is little Johnny or Susie with a little point and shoot camera or Annie Leibovitz. The defining point is that each person that looks through a lens sees something different. Essentially, even if not acknowledged, every Photographer is an Artist because they are expressing themselves through the push of a button. Those looking through the lens ultimately define the angle, lighting, backgrounds and subject.

The difference in a Wedding Photographer versus a Wedding Artist is how much the one looking through the lens are allowed to express themselves during the course of the wedding day events or if they are following a "list" of shots and are not allowed to vary from that list. The determining factor is not with the Photographer but the client that hires the Photographer (the bride and groom). There are also different levels of Artists, just as you have different levels of painters, there are Photographers that shoot much more often from a position of Artist as opposed to a Photographer.

How are you the bride to determine if you want a Wedding Artist or a Wedding Photographer? Just as every person has different taste in art, there are different taste or expectations for every bride & groom on what they would like to accomplish at the end of their wedding day. And there is no right or wrong answer to that choice, just different expectations. If the expectation is that someone who has previously shot wedding photos show up and collect a "list" of photos that you have handed them, then there are plenty of people that will do that. Most, if not all of these Photographers will not charge a lot of money.

This is not a knock on the Photographer; a lot of Wedding Photographers do this as a part time job, making some extra money in addition to their main job. However, if you want a Wedding Artist, someone that will express themselves throughout the course of the most important day of your life and will at the end of that day, not only capture shots off of "the list" but will create photographs that leave you breathless, those Artists are available. They are available in every city in the world ... Wedding Photographers that are truly Artists. Yes they will command much more money for their Art, the choice to spend that money ultimately is up to the bride and groom. With the higher fees comes a different type of Photographer, not someone pushing a button a couple weekends a month, but someone that breaths the art and lives form of Photography.

So how do the bride determine if you want to hire a Wedding Artist? With the portfolios all over the Internet a bride doesn't have to look far to find a "Artist". You will be able to tell by looking at the images and tell ... do these look like photos that were on "the list" or do these photos scream of expression from an Artist. Are the images the here type of images that draw you into them? Do they bring emotion out of you? Literally, there are images that take your breath away. Then you can make your choice ... who do you want to hire ... Wedding Photographer or Wedding Artist?
